NYIT libraries include Reference sections which contains reference books on a variety of topics which cannot be checked out of the libraries. Examples include dictionaries, almanacs and encyclopedias. Call numbers begin with REF.

The libraries also have collections of high demand items which NYIT faculty place "On Reserve". Students with a valid NYIT ID can check out reserve materials for a maximum of 3 hours.

To locate items in the Reference or Reserve Collection perform an advanced search in the library catalog, and limit by locationInterested faculty can also participate in our electronic reserve program
