The New York Tech Library does not appraise books. However, we realize that this is a topic of great interest to many people and suggest two places to begin:

  • Your Old Books pamphlet was written by Peter Van Wingen, former Rosenwald curator at the Library of Congress. It includes a list of questions to ask yourself when determining book values. Link here to an electronic version courtesy of the Rare Books and Manuscript Section at the Association of Research Libraries, division of the American Library Association.
  •
  • In addition, the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America, publishes an annual membership directory. It includes subject and geographical indices to help you contact the booksellers who might be of assistance.
